FILM SUBMISSIONS

The IHSFF focuses on independent competition horror and sci-fi films. We also showcase horror and sci-fi genre independent studio films with celebrity guests in attendance. 

We take film submissions in the following categories:

  • Horror Feature (TRT over 60 minutes)

  • Horror Short (TRT under 30 minutes)

  • Sci-fi Feature (TRT over 60 minutes)

  • Sci-fi Short (TRT under 30 minutes)

SCREENPLAY SUBMISSIONS ARE OPEN! SUBMIT NOW FOR 2024.

The International Horror and Sci-fi Film Festival is looking for the best unproduced short film scripts out there.

Screenplays must be yours, original, within the horror or sci-fi genre and under 25 pages. So let's see what you've got!

Plus, we've got a lot of great prizes for our screenplay winners.

First Place:

  • $250 cash from the Phoenix Film Foundation

  • A Phoenix Film Festival prize pack

  • Listing on IHSFF website

  • Two VIP Passes to the 2023 Phoenix Film Festival (accommodation and air fare not included).

Second Place:

The International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival  is a  501(c)3 non-profit organization under the Phoenix Film Foundation and is a sibling of the Phoenix Film Festival, Phoenix Film Society, IFP/Phoenix, Peoria Film Fest, the Arizona Student Film Festival and the Phoenix Critics Circle.

The Phoenix Film Foundation is dedicated to promoting diversity and education in the arts, elevating underrepresented voices, and driving the growth of independent film in Arizona. Through film showcases and accessible educational initiatives, we cultivate a vibrant, inclusive cinematic community, utilizing it as a catalyst for personal growth, creative expression, and positive social change.
